Adam Looney is the policy director of The Hamilton Project and senior fellow in Economic Studies at the Brookings Institution. His research focuses on tax policy and labor economics. Prior to joining Brookings in 2010, Looney served as the senior economist for public finance and tax policy with the President’s Council of Economic Advisers from 2009-2010 and was an economist at the Federal Reserve Board from 2004-2010. Previously, he was an investment specialist in the Office of Financial Stability at the U.S. Treasury, and prior to that he was a visiting faculty member in the department of Economics at the University of California-Berkeley. Looney earned his Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.
