James Clarke is Interim Director of Policy and Planning at the Louisiana Board of Regents, a position he assumed in early 2010. Prior to that, he was executive director of the ACT Center for College and Career Success in 2008-2009. Previously, Jimmy was Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco’s chief of staff, starting immediately post-Katrina in September 2005 and serving until early 2008. From 1997 to 2005, he held several positions for the Louisiana Board of Regents, including Deputy Commissioner for Academic and Student Affairs and Deputy Commissioner for Planning, Research and Performance. For 20 years prior to that, he served in a number of capacities at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, including dean of enrollment management and dean of student personnel. Jimmy earned his Ph.D. in educational leadership at Louisiana State University.
