Mary Sheehy Moe

Mary Sheehy Moe is in the 38th year of her career in education. A Montana native, she was a high school English teacher in Red Lodge, Polson, and Columbia Falls for 18 years before joining the faculty at The University of Montana – Helena College of Technology, where she served as chair of the English department before moving on to the chief executive position at Montana State University – Great Falls College of Technology. In 2008, Mary was appointed Deputy Commissioner for Two-Year Education in the Montana Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education, the first cabinet-level position devoted to two-year education in Montana. She currently leads the Lumina-funded COLLEGE!NOW initiative, focusing on two-year college coordination and collaboration as Montana’s strategy for Lumina’s productivity agenda.  Mary was named Montana Teacher of the Year as a high school teacher and received the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Educator as a college administrator. She earned her Ph.D. in educational leadership at The University of Montana.
