Matthew Chingos is a research fellow at the Program on Education Policy and Governance at Harvard University, and a research associate and project manager at The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. He is coauthor, with William G. Bowen and Michael S. McPherson, of Crossing the Finish Line: Completing College at America’s Public Universities (2009). His work addresses politics, economics, and policy at both the K-12 and postsecondary levels. His current research focuses on teacher labor markets, class-size reduction policies, citizen perceptions of school quality, and the college choices of low-income students. In September 2010, he will begin a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard’s Program on Education Policy and Governance. Matthew earned his Ph.D. in government at Harvard.
