Richard Petrick is the Vice Chancellor for Finance for the Ohio Board of Regents. He is primarily responsible for the development and administration of the higher education operating and capital budgets in Ohio. Rich also directs the Board’s financial review of public colleges and universities and oversees the development and use of the higher education information system, HEI. Rich joined the Board of Regents staff in 1990 as Director of Budgets and Resource Planning and became Vice Chancellor for Finance in 1998. From 1985 to 1990, Rich served the Ohio General Assembly in the non-partisan Ohio Legislative Budget Office, where he initially staffed the House Finance and Appropriations Committee and Controlling Board. Later, as Division Chief at the Legislative Budget Office, he supervised staff in the Education, Environmental, and Criminal Justice program areas. Prior to 1985, Rich was a lecturer in political science at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Rich earned his B.A. in government at Oberlin College.
