Wallace Boston was appointed president and CEO of American Public University System (APUS) and its parent company, American Public Education, Inc. (APEI) in 2004. Previously, he served as CFO, COO or CEO of Meridian Healthcare, Manor Healthcare, Neighborcare Pharmacies, and Sun Healthcare Group. In 2006, Wallace guided APUS through its initial accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association, and in 2007 led APEI to an initial public offering on the NASDAQ Exchange. APUS has more than100,000 students in 87 degree programs, including more than 45,000 students in its American Military University division. Wallace is a member of the Board of Overseers of the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education, the Advisory Board of the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA), the Arizona State University Education Innovation Advisory Board, and a board member of Avalere Health LLC. Wallace earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania.
